Costa Rica Adventure Activities - Part I



Costa Rica is a small country divided by a range of mountains and volcanos. Its special location offers both Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea and a wide range of scenes, wildlife and nature. It is a great country for mountain bike, no matter where the location: beach, flatlands or mountains. The best routes for mountain biking are Irazu-Turrialba, Cartago-Orosi, Rincon de la Vieja, La Fortuna-Tilaran, and Monteverde, among others.




Canopy, also called ziplining, is available almost every place in Costa Rica. The main difference are the type of forests through which the canopy tour was built, the heights and logitud, and the different scenery that can be seen. The first canopy built in Costa Ricas was the Original Canopy in Monteverde, but there are so many that only the best are offered by Banana Adventure Tours in each location. Some of this tours include wires as long as 1 kilometer, and Tarzan swing.

Costa Rica is the dream country for hikers of all kinds. Its landscapes, mountains, forests and wide selection of National Parks, biological reserves and botanical gardens makes it very interesting and exciting. Anywhere you go in the country you can find trails and places to walk and enjoy its great biodiversity.

Wether you are an experienced rafter or you have never done it, there is a river for you in Costa Rica. The main rivers in the country for white water rafting are: Sarapiqui River (Class II-III), Reventazon River (Class III-IV), Savegre River - Manuel Antonio (Class III), Naranjo River - Manuel Antonio (Class III), Pejivaye River - Turrialba (Class III), Corobici River - Guanacaste (Class I), and the most famous Pacuare River (Class III-IV), described as one of the top ten most scenic rivers in the world for white water rafting.
